Why a photographer should hire a virtual assistant
Photographers always seem to be very busy. There are so many aspects of running a photography business that need constant attention. From scheduling sessions and weddings to travelling and editing. There is A LOT that goes into a photography business. Then, on top of that there is social media and marketing and blogging and websites and SEO. It never ends. Photographers are superheroes. Photographers deserve a sidekick that will help them get through it all!
Social media mayhem
Social media is an amazing tool that lets you easily connect with potential clients, but can be so overwhelming, especially with the constant changes. Handing off some social media planning or hashtag optimization, or caption writing, or even content creation to some degree can take a bit of social media off of your plate so that you have the time to run the rest of your business!
Lightroom, Photoshop, bears, oh my!
Trusting someone else with your editing is a big ask. While some VAs can help with editing (like me), they can also take on other tasks so that you have more time to edit and therefore more time for your life. I see photographers on social media ALWAYS talking about how editing photos is taking away valuable time with their families, or even SLEEPING. You deserve to have a balanced life and sleep schedule. However, if you are comfortable handing off some editing it can really take a lot off your plate. Your photos would still be yours, still be edited in your style, still up to your standards, just done by someone else. I have always LOVED creative photography, so I am pretty comfortable with lightroom. My editing process would look just like yours and the end result would be just like yours, without the work.
Blogging, copywriting, and other tools
People LOVE knowing about how your past sessions have gone, what it's like behind the scenes, tips and tricks, understanding your personality. A blog is an AWESOME way to let them know all of that before they even talk to you. Having a blog can convert leads to clients. A virtual assistant can take your ideas, your thoughts, and pull it all together into a blog post in a snap. Your VA can format, create graphics, add valuable SEO, and even write your blog posts. You have so many other things to do that are vital to your business, hiring someone to run your blog gives you the best of both worlds. You get to be Hannah Montana. You have valuable content on your website AND you have some time freed up to focus on other business things or your LIFE.
